THE GEORG JENSEN SOCIETY

On April 24, 2000 "The Georg Jensen Socitety" (in Danish "Georg Jensen Selskabet") was formed in Copenhagen, Denmark. The aim of the society is to spread information about silversmith and sculptor Georg Jensens art and life. The society will collect as much information and original material as possible about Georg Jensens life, his artistic carreer as a silversmith and sculptor, and the companies "Georg Jensen's Silver smithy" and "Georg Jensen & Wendel" in Georg Jensens lifetime. All this information will be made available to the public in printed or electronic form, lectures or symposiums, exhibitions or other ways which the board will find suitable.

The board consists of 4 elected members:
Liv Caroee, Ellis Tauber-Lassen, Morten Møller Georg Jensen og Michael Krogsgaard, and 3 persons with special knowledge about Georg Jensen and his life work: Silversmith Mogens Bjoern-Andersen and Caryl og Harold Unger (Miami Beach, Florida, USA)

Michael Krogsgaard are president of the society.

Individial membership costs 200,- DKr. 27 Euro.

Read everything about the exhibition ”The Unknown Georg Jensen”, organized by The Georg Jensen Society in collaboration with Øregaard Museum in Hellerup during the period April 28 – August 1, 2004. Some of the items from the exhibition was exhibited in Maison du Danemark (Denmark’s House) in Paris September 24 – November 7, 2004. Click on “E 2004”.
